Cute farming sim for PC
Ova Magica is a premium simulation game for PC made by developer ClaudiaTheDev. It is a farming sim that will let players experience building their own farm from scratch, growing a variety of crops and plants. They can also interact with various characters in town or establish a business selling their harvest.
Similar to Coral Island or Sun Haven, Ova Magica takes inspiration from classic titles in the genre. It employs familiar mechanics, as well as encourages exploration and interactions with various characters. What makes it stand out more is its unique pet system that expands its gameplay even further.
New in town
You start Ova Magica as a newcomer to Clover Town. You have hopes of making a new life for yourself, and the way you'll do that is by building your own farm. First, you must till the land to have it ready for planting new crops and plants. There are plenty of choices to choose from, including fruits and vegetables, herbs, and even mushrooms.
As you get the hang of it, you can opt to try making a business and sell your harvest at the local market. The game lets you have pets, but with a twist. Instead of your typical farm animals, you get to raise and breed blob-like creatures. They come in all colors, shapes, and sizes, as well as serving as your companions in farm work.
You can interact with the townspeople to get to know their stories and maybe even meet a special someone. Alternatively, you can train your pets and do battle with fellow trainers, or go on expeditions in search of adventure and treasure. Now, you'll have to wait a while to play this game as it's not out yet, and its planned release window is still in 2023.
More than just a farm sim
In summary, Ova Magica is a deceptively simple farming sim that has more depth and complexity to it than it seems. Outside of the tried and true gameplay mechanics, it serves up some more in the form of trainer battles and fun expeditions. It's too soon to tell if it can live up to its claims, but it will be worth keeping tabs on nonetheless.
